WHEN IS THE EVENT?
Saturday 27th May 2023
WHERE IS IT LOCATED?
Connor Street (between James St and GC Highway) & Memorial Park – Burleigh Heads, 4220
DOES THIS EVENT COST ANYTHING TO ATTEND?
This is a public event and admission is free.
HOW CAN I SUPPORT THIS EVENT?
The best way to support the event is to support the local businesses. This is all about ‘local Gold Coasters’ supporting ‘local Gold Coast businesses’. Why not check out several of the restaurants/cafes or bars in the area and book a table with them directly online. Or purchase some products or other services from those within the precinct. And at the same time, enjoy the free on-street and in-house entertainment and activities.
ARE ANY ROADS CLOSED?
Yes – the event area includes Connor St (between James St and the GC Highway), Burleigh Heads. There is a road closure in place along this road from 9am (Car Parks) / 10am to Midnight (Road Closure) for setting up and the safety of attendees. In addition the northern lane of Connor St (between Park Ave and James St) will have restricted access only for local businesses. More information of the proposed closure can be downloaded here.
WHERE CAN I PARK?
Surrounding car parks and side streets. Alex Black Car Park is another option close by. However, we encourage public transport or ride share as much as possible and also suggest greener options such as walking or biking down to the event area.
IS PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPERATING?
Please see translink timetable here – https://translink.com.au/. Alternatively, taxi/uber/rideshare or make your journey active and walk, ride, scoot or skate to the event. Please plan accordingly.
IS THERE ALLOCATED SEATING?
No – but there are some tables/chairs next to the food areas for eating takeaway meals or items from the supporting businesses.
CAN I BRING A PICNIC BLANKET?
Yes. We encourage you to bring a blanket to relax and enjoy the entertainment. Please note – venue is a mixture of pathways, concrete, and grass so bring blankets and towels/cushions to help for comfort.
CAN I BRING A CAMPING CHAIR?
Yes – but if bringing a chair, we ask that you sit to the back (or side) of entertainment areas so as not to reduce the viewing of those behind you. Please ensure you take everything home with you that you bring, including any waste.
CAN I BRING FOOD AND DRINK?
We encourage attendees to support the many local food and drink businesses situated in and around the event space.
CAN I BRING ALCOHOL?
No. This is a public event and alcohol is not permitted to be consumed onsite. QPS will be in attendance throughout the event.
WILL SECURITY BE ONSITE?
Yes. Security will be in attendance. Attendees failing to follow the rules will be asked to leave the event area.
IM KEEN TO ATTEND BUT FEEL UNWELL. CAN I STILL COME?
If you are feeling unwell, we strongly encourage you to stay at home. 2023 is not the year to ‘push yourself’ or risk other attendees health. Stay home – get better – and come back stronger for the next one. We also reserve the right to refuse entry to the event zone at any time.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Attendees can bring their pets as it’s a public space but please ensure they’re in your control and on leads at all times. Please note however, there will be a lot of people, stalls, activities and loud noises from audio speakers, so it might be worthwhile re-considering before bringing your furry friend.
WHERE IS LOST PROPERTY?
If you find or lose something – please go to the Event Managers information tent on the day. After the event, any lost property will be kept at The Events Agency HQ for 21 days.
MIGHT I BE PHOTOGRAPHED OR RECORDED AT THIS EVENT?
Yes, photographers and videographers may be present and by attending this event, you consent to be photographed, filmed and/or otherwise recorded and to the release, publication, or reproduction of the photographs and/or recordings without restriction or compensation. Attendees who do not wish to be photographed or recorded should not enter the event zone.
